No Hell?

Statistics, especially those relating to the public perspective of religion in America, have always interested me. These figures represent the real life application that people make of whatever it is they are being taught and most of the time what is found is enough to scare you to death. The state of true conviction in our society is deplorable – most are satisfied to simply go along just to get along with others. True religion has taken a back seat to pluralism and conviction has stepped aside for the sake of peacekeeping. It is a trend that few want to admit but one that most have seen developing for years. Thus, you understand both my shock and lack thereof when I read a recent Barna Group study that reported 50% of all Americans “believe that all people are eventually saved or accepted by God no matter what they do.”

I have only one question to ask. Is God true to His word? Now I know that may sound like an odd question to ask because the answer should be blatantly obvious; however, the reality is that 50% of all Americans apparently believe the answer is no! The Bible records that “the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death” (Revelation 21:8). That is God’s statement on the matter – is God true to His word?

  2. That’s very true Jimmy. Few have much concern any more for what the Bible actually teaches…they are more concerned with tradition or personal belief. We must be willing to accept the reality hell if we are going to seek to avoid it. Thanks for reading!
